sometimes you mention your line of work and folks go – “Oh my nephew, he’s 14, he makes websites too”.
at this point a nod or “That’s nice” usually suffices, but when someone asks what it involves and how do you get one setup, it’s nice to be able to walk them through the process.
giving advice based on your experience can sometimes fuel debates on what others have read or what they want to do.
recently I’ve been really blessed to have had a couple of really nice sessions when I think I actually managed to make sense and help out some people with their problems.
seeing the difference in confidence and sense of achievement when someone does a blog post for the first time, thanks to your help, is really quite satisfying.
but I’m not about to jack it all in and go into teaching or anything like that.
